One transistor forward with avalanche reset

Hi,
We took apart a  product, and found it to be a One Transistor Forward , but with no reset winding, and no primary clamp.
The magnetising inductance, and leakage inductance, were just getting reset by way of the primary FET repeatedly avalanching.
Would you declare this to be unreliable?

Don't you mean "would you agree this is unreliable?" ?

Is it a Chinese product?

What are its specifications?

What is the design lifetime? After all, WW2 bomber engines weren't reliable, but statistically they only had to last a few hours.
