Aquion Energy Files for Banruptcy
« on: March 14, 2017, 07:49:28 pm »
The saltwater battery maker is reducing its workforce by 80%.

Sounds like they took a good bit of money in the form of government grants that the state of Pennsylvania may be looking to recover.

It really seemed like a good technology. Their datasheets claim 3000 cycles at 100%depth of discharge. The batteries also seemed relatively safe from a hazardous material and volatility standpoint.

As a native of Pittsburgh it's twice as disappointing.

One of many. In my opinion, Redflow is headed in the same direction.
