Shutting down the UCC28070A PFC controller?

Hi,
Can we simply shut down the UCC28070A Boost PFC controller by grounding its transconductance current error amplifier outputs (CAOA) ?
The below App Note seems to suggest this is possible (Q2 grounds the CAOA output)
SLUR033 App Note:
https://www.ti.com/lit/df/slur033/slur033.pdf?ts=1658554812841
UCC28070A datasheet:
https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ucc28070a.pdf?ts=1658587094824&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252FUCC28070A
Though i wondered what if the transconductance current error amplifier somehow goes into some "zone" whereby its higher output transistor gets fully saturated ON, so that its railed high?...then it gets grounded and there's smoke?
