Torroid cores for energy harvesting from the mains?
« on: September 28, 2022, 05:33:20 pm »
Hi,
Just noticed that digikey etc dont stock split powdered iron cores for clipping round house incoming line so that small amounts (~1W or so) of  energy can be harvested from the mains.
Do you know of any offtheshelf parts?

Thes nano-crystalline cores are available but are not sold as "split".

Why would them?

Also, as everybody knows, the amount of power you can extract depends on the load applied to the mains ring.
What's the real problem that you are trying to solve?

It gets all its power by harvesting from the mains.

"split toroid" is not stocked anywhere.

Use UU or UI ferrite.

Check Micrometals for Powdered iron
