1N920 diode substitute advice please
« on: January 30, 2020, 11:07:12 am »
Howdy,

I have an oldschool Televideo 925 terminal that I would like to get working. I've detected one of the diodes as blown in the video circuit and hoping for advice on suitable replacement. I should mention that I am being extremely cautious around the CRT and Flyback transformer, which can hold a deadly charge, even though it is only a diode that I am wanting to replace.

The diode is D301 on the schematic and listed in the parts list as an 1N920. Any suggestions on most suitable readily accessible replacement?

I have some 1N5819 diodes on hand among others but not really sure they'd be suitable.

I have attached:

* The schematic with a red arrow pointing to the diode.
* The parts list for the video section.
* 1N920 spec sheet.
* Some pics of the pulled diode. Markings seem to be something like a "K" and "O".

Hi,

I would try a 1N4935. These should be easy to get.
