32" Samsung LCD no backlights!

Hi all, need some help please repairing a 32"LCD there are no backlights, image can be seen with the good old torch trick. Thanks

Check you are getting "clean" DC to the backlight inverter.
Indentify the inverter controller IC and get the datasheet.
Some inverters have Over Current shutdown protection, disabling it is a common fix, recommended?  :-//

Inverter operation can be confirmed just with a scope probe used like a "near field" probe. (no connection)

That should get you started.  ;)

have you checked for bulged caps in the power supply?
