75W wine (peltier) cooler PSU noise
« on: February 19, 2018, 05:57:26 pm »
After replacing a bad (high ESR) rectified mains cap on a thermoelectric cooler, it seems to be working but emits this loud noise in attach.

Can't pin point the exact source of it. Can't see any sparking or burned spots. What do you think it is? The first "clank" noise it's me unplugging the mains power plug, all others it's the PSU.

Thanks

Using the highly sophisticated earing aid tool in attach ;D I pinpointed the noise to a "power" transformer (it's a switching PSU). It seems good, so moving on to check the driving circuit. Meanwhile I found the schematics, the job just became easier :)
