Title: 861DW burnt out transformer part
Post by: iQuick on November 03, 2020, 07:47:05 pm
Hello,

This is my first post. I mistakenly plugged my 861DW rework station into a 220v/240v wall socket today instead in though my 110v step down transformer.

It appears the only part damaged was the internal "Transformer 861DS" "In:110v" "Out 23v" "Out 10v" (see images attached)

Where can I order a replacement transformer and even better can I change this unit to a 220v/240v capable rework station?

Thank you,

Michael

Who is the manufacturer?  I would correspond with them to discover if they will sell a replacement part with 240V rating.

looking at spare heating element for 861DW on union repair there are 2 different varieties 110V and 220V - so just swapping the Transformer is probably not going to work. You could try contacting them to see if they will help
- shipping to SA could be another problem
