Attempting to replace battery in this thermal monocular. I need to figure out how to remove the front focus ring to split case. Ring has a stop in both directions and no set screw that I can locate. Any advise on removing ring? I am assuming it just dead heads against the stop and then unthreads with enough pressure but would like to check with people with more experience before I put more muscle into it and find out I'm wrong. Any thoughts?
Found a short video of very similar model without the large external focus ring and that just had a slotted nut so I would think either the focus ring on mine functions as the slotted nut or the slotted nut is located behind the focus ring. Either way the focus ring needs to come off. Thanks.
