A very interesting observation fixing a Kenmore Vacuum
« on: September 26, 2020, 09:16:31 pm »
While troubleshooting a Kenmore vacuum that lost power to the power head, I discovered that I lost continuity on one leg of the AC wiring along the wand. After tearing the wand apart (P/N KC99PCPMZV06) I  discovered the manufacturer embedded a 10A pico fuse in the wand which was totally covered in plastic. If the fuse blew you now faced replacing a 20 cent part with a new $80 wand.  >:D
Thanks for letting me vent. I hope this helps someone, someday. Now I can go back to troubleshooting the dirt sensor which was the original problem.  ::)

This crap happens all the time.  I have had to throw away transformers where an embedded fuse has opened and it's glued together so well that it wasn't worth driving myself nuts fixing it.
