Advantest R6581 Display Needed

Hi All,
I have been working on a Advantest R6581 8.5 digit (ish) multimeter which seems to be basically working (and yes I have been doing a video about it), but as usual with this type of gear the display is very dim, I am hoping someone out there has a known good display (with very little/no burn in) so that I can get this looking a lot better.

do you have a part number / model,    since its an 2 line vfd  would it be substituable with an lcd instead

No, a simple two-line character display is not enough, you need a graphic display.
In fact, as you can see from the attached picture, there are also symbols at the top of the screen.
Then you should do a decoding as I did some time ago for the Wavetek 1271.
I also have an R6581T with a barely readable display, I confess that for a moment I thought about doing a similar thing but then I gave up.

Good there is the LCD display hack in case anything else fails.

I'll be in Akihabara next week, so will search around. If any place to find one of these displays, that should be a good place.

I was one of the lucky guys getting a new VFD back in 2020 for my unit.

Kind of a odd that these ancient displays was manufactured as late as 2017.
