If I press Run again, I see image 1 again. |

Your machines just don't stop surprising. Do it again, but wait Advantest putting text on screen. If text on screen is not instant count how long its appearing take. Then press Run again. Do you lose that Advantest text on screen? If you do how long before it reappears, close to same as the first time? If text on screen is instant or close to it scope CPU pin 15. Is there a cycling pause when you press Run? Maybe HP is acting up. If CPU pin 15 cycling is pausing or text on screen disappears check +5V. At least FPU pin 24 and RTC pin 18, maybe also 74F161 chips left of crystals. Scope them when pressing Run. None of those peculiar signals are CPU based. PODs 09, 11, 13 and 14, FPU has done it earlier, IPL source is unknown. |

The text on the screen appears approximately 3 seconds after the device is turned on and remains fixed on the screen: it does not disappear! |

That is good. So extra reset and missing clock can be HP something. Maybe second picture is an HP replicate, maybe your two Runs were too close and HP treated them as one. Overload is also possible, but signals are a bit odd. Overloaded pin can affect others, but result is still odd. Change POD 06 32081 15 _RST FPU POD 07 82C79 9 RESET KBC POD 08 63265 7 _RESET FDC and do image 1 and double Run again, wait with second Run until text appears. If resetting is real all of those above three should act near POD 15, PODs 06 and 08 going down and POD 07 going up. If something is pulling something else then POD 07 can stay down. If POD internals are 8+8 pins and one side is overloading then PODs 06 and 08 can act differently. It's also possible that PODs 06 and 08 are acting differently on purpose, but that means an extra and not really needed Advantest circuit somewhere. Next do the same image 1 and double Run again twice, but use Find Patterns xx8x and 9x4x. Find Pattern xx8x means that reset operation is starting and 9x4x that it's ending. There PODs 04 and 05 are also included, but assumption is that they are both down, as they should be. Then do image 1 and double Run third time using Find Pattern xx4x. Find Patterns xx4x and xx8x have only one pin up, so with bad luck you'll get an unstable random picture. If that happens just try again few times. |
| m k:
Small change. Find Patterns xx4x and 9x4x are most likely working properly. So Advantest off first. Advantest off -> Run -> Advantest on -> wait text -> Run again |
