| RV066:
I own a Counter Agilent Model 53132A Opt. 010 S/N MY40008352. This counter has been presented to me several years ago. The counter is defective. The powerup self test indicates FAIL: QSPI The condition of the counter is excellent. There are no scratches visible. It looks like a factory shipped item. I had the idea its now the time to try a repair. So I removed the cover. Inside the counter is no dust. I checked the supply voltages of the power supply. The output voltages are all present and within limits as specified in table 2-4 of the Service Guide. The blower is operating. On the PCB of the power supply are no leaked electrolytic capacitors visible. The signal on the 10MHz Out is present. I performed the self test routines of the Utility Menu by manual selection of the tests: Test Result REV: 4613 DISP? PASS (all segments of the VFD are visible and all LEDs of the frontpanel lights up) CPU? PASS ROM? PASS RAM? PASS EEPROM? PASS GPIB? PASS QSPI? FAIL FPGA? no result displayed FR ENDP? PASS MEAS? FAIL INTERP? FAIL KEYPAD? PASS PRINT? PASS When performing the QSPI test "QSPI: FPGA FAIL" is output on the RS-232 I/F. When performing the MEAS test " MEAS: Chan 1, measured too high FAIL " " MEAS: Chan 2, measured too high FAIL " is output on the RS-232 I/F. What is too high ? When performing the INTERP test " MEAS: Chan 1, measured too high FAIL " " MEAS: Chan 2, measured too high FAIL " " Interpolator: B, CC mode FAIL " is output on the RS-232 I/F. The PRINT test outputs the lines " " " HEWLETT-PACKARD,53132A,0,4613 " " !"#$%&'()*+,-./0123456789:;<=>?@ " " ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ[\]^_`abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz{|}~ " on the RS-232 I/F. As the DISP test and KEYPAD test are PASS I assume there is a failure on the mainboard. Is there anybody who knows which signal loops are tested when performing the QSPI test, the MEAS test and the INTERP test ? with best regards Reinhard |
