Agilent 54622D -- Missing "Intensity" knob.
« on: June 14, 2023, 06:29:18 pm »
Hello everyone,

Need help sourcing and or figuring out how to go about replace a missing "Intensity" knob/button for a recent purchase of an Agilent 54622D.

The original listing (eBay) showed the scope with the knob in question attached but when the package got to me the button was nowhere to be found and the seller claims he couldn't find it either. He refunded me $25 so it's all good since this knob is not used very much anyways.

Having said that, it bugs me that the scope is not complete and aesthetically it is not pleasant to the eye this way.

Anyone know where to source one? Have looked on eBay and thus far have come up empty.

Already replaced the internal battery thanks to another thread on this forum where "hanakp" posted some very good pictures and information.

Any information would be appreciated.

Yes, I had the same problem with an eBay purchase. In my case it got snapped off whilst the seller moved/packed it and they were able to find and forward the missing part.

The missing knob is on a long plastic shaft. On mine it wasn't possible to just glue the shaft as it was quite deformed. I got a small piece of aluminium tubing and used this to join the two parts. You may be able to find a NOS knob matching this, and then piece together an extension to the shaft. I think it just pulls out, so you get get some long nose pliers and pull out the piece you have. You might need a piece of tubing and a short replacement shaft.

Obviously the easiest thing would be to buy a replacement of this plastic shaft, but I could not find this anywhere. QService are great but I can't see any knobs for these scopes here.

Here's a pic of what it should look like & the part number. Also pic of my broken one.

Wanted to say thanks for your response. It gave me some new insight about how to go about trying to resolve this.
