Agilent 54622D trivia question
« on: March 06, 2020, 06:13:59 pm »
Hello!

So this is one trivia question which gives me a little concern about the scope.

I have 2 54622D.
On one when i power it up (nothing connected to the inputs) when i push "Auto-Scale" button i can hear for a brief moment sound comming from the floppy. On the other scope this is not the situation.

So what i am concerned, is this normal behaviour? This is only at first powering up and as i push autoscale the floppy makes that specific read/write sound. And if i push autoscale again no floppy action.

Thank you in advance!

Just try putting a floppy disc in them and see if you can write waveforms, ideally test the saved images on a computer

Mine makes a sound when autoscale is pressed that does appear to come from the floppy. Only does it once after powerup.

Exact same situation is on mine! But only on one of 2 same scopes, so i have get my OCD kicked in because of that thinking that something is wrong. Are you sure that it comes from the floppy? Do not confuse it with sound of relay ;)
But if it comes from the floppy  now i feel relief  |O :-DD I don't know how to thank you for that

The relays always click - it's not that sound. It sounds like the floppy is seeking to track 0 but it is already there due to the powerup seek so it just makes a little clunk sound.

Do you have the same firmware on both?
