[SOLVED] Agilent DSO 6034A [Bootloop]
joe500:
Hello, I've bought a DSO6034A from my company.
It was working great but one time I tried the logic analizer(was enabled on this model)
and after activating the channels the scope freezed. So I just powered it off and back on again.
Now it hangs in a bootloop, where you can see the initialisation sequence(leds blink). But after
the sequence only the 'Single' stays lit but the screen is still black. After a view seconds the startup sequence
starts all over again and never stops. I've read that this is a known problem with the eeprom of the scope.
Is there any possibility to flash a new firmware or just reset the eeprom using one of the onboard headers?
Any suggestion would be fine :-+
PS:I've also soldered a wire to the 'Reset' Pin(#14) of the AMD chip and grounded it for a view seconds, but that wasn't helping either :palm:
Carrington:
EEPROM? AMD chip?
Can you post a picture?
Have you tried to recover it via usb?
joe500:
Thank you very much Carrington for your help!!!
I've tried the usb method you have suggested, but with no luck. The usb port isn't even powering the stick.
I've tried with 2 different sticks both formated with fat32.
Another thing I've tried was to desolder the onboard battery in hope of clearing any mess on the eeprom - also no luck.
The scope uses the AM29LV128MH ic.

Check some voltages, see the service manual, pages 94 to 98.

Not a good idea, I think. Anyway, the battery is fine?

Ok, yes, it's from AMD, it is the flash memory. On other devices is a "Spansion" S29G...

I've checked all the voltages from the table:
L3204 3.3 (+- 0.1) U3202
L3201 5.0 (+- 0.1) U3202
L3301 1.5 (+- 0.1) U3300
L3302 -5.2 (+- 0.1) U3301
all looks fine. The battery also supplies the rated 3V. When I bought that scope it had the same issue. After restarting it 10 times it was working again,
but now even the restarts dont help :-//. If it is firmware related, can't i just flash it over some interface like uart?
