Agilent DSO3062A wont boot
« on: March 25, 2020, 03:55:44 pm »
Hello all,

I'm facing a problem with my Agilent DSO3062A scope. It was working fine and all of a sudden it wont boot anymore. Panel lights keep flashing quickly and internal fan keeps trying to start.

This seems like a typical SMPS hiccup problem, so I removed the power supply and checked all electrolytics (they are fine) and diodes (tested fine too). I dont have any schematics or service manual (could not find them) so Im lost at what to do now.
I have completely diconnected the power supply from the scope and was able to measure +5, +22v (no load) and some other voltages, but since I dont have any schematics Im not sure what voltages to look for at which pins. The PS does output steady voltages without load, but hiccups whenever its connected to the scope logic board.

Any help is greatly appreciated  :D

Is there any other number on the board than DSO3000 Series Power Supply? Possibly a part number beginning with 0950-...?

There may be a failure on the logic board. Would be good to check all power rails on the logic board for shorts. Also outputs of local converters/regulators if they exist. In addition to resistance check, I personaly like to use diode test mode of a multimeter to observe how a power rail behaves.
