Agilent DSO 6000 scope front keypad problems

I am trying to debug an Agilent DSO 6012A with keypad problem. After the boot up the front panel keyboard is completely unresponsive. The LEDs work just fine on the keypad. I have tried changing the keypad and the keypad ribbon cable from another unit but no change in the keypad behavior. It looks like it might be something on the main board but I don't know where to look.
The scope also displays some message about the battery being charged, even though there is no battery present on this unit.
Please help.

have one Agilent DSO6034A  with same symptoms. Any luck with your unit?
