Agilent DSOX3024 Oscolloscope not working
« on: January 28, 2022, 03:12:55 pm »
I have an Agilent (HP) DSOX3024 scope and I hadn't used it for a few months and went to power it on and and it flashes a few lights and stops with 2 green LEDs Math & Ref on and does nothing. It does power on maybe once every 20 or 30 times, it's obviously a power up reset problem because when it does power up it's fully functional. It's about 7 years old in perfect condition. Has anyone seen this before or do I need to send it to get reapired?

This is a very known issue with NAND flash memory corruption. There are many threads detailing the problem. Generally it is fixed by updating the firmware. So if you can get it to fully boot installing the newest firmware is the way to go.

Thank you so much Steve, I got it to boot after several power ons. I dowloaded the current V2.65 firmware file and updated it and fixed the problem. Strange how I had this problem after 7 years, if, as you say it is a known issue, I wonder if other people have had this problem more frequently.

Glad to hear you got the updated firmware installed. There are actually many threads here on the problem and details on how to fix the scope if it won't boot at all. Keysight changed aspects of the firmware to mitigate the problem several years ago. For a time they were also repairing units for no charge.
