Mystery SMD Part Identification
« on: October 30, 2016, 04:04:07 am »
Hello all, I'm working to revive an expensive piece of network equipment and ive discovered the fault is a short in an SMD component that i have been completely unable to identify. I wondered if maybe someone might recognize this or know a little more about the markings.

Its a power handling component of some kind, it has markings on it as follows:

MPDJ
8632
118
8

Attached is a photo of its front and back. any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I think this part is obsolete only the QFN package is available however you need to determine which one (current rating) and make  adapter but don't know if this is pin compatible to your old one.

Oh i thought MPQ8632 might be related, i think i will try contacting the maker and see if i can get a confirmation from them. the pads on the board that i can identify appear to match MPQ8632's datasheet but im not certain about most of the 8 small ones on the side. Thanks for the help!
