Agilent Infinium 54832B no dispaly
« on: January 11, 2022, 10:31:38 am »

hello

Unit did not power on. no fans working.
Fault was traced to a defective TOP223Y Ic in the power supply side board and an open 10ohms MOX resistor
After replacing unit powers on and shuts down after a minute . repeated power on cycles from the front panel power on  key  results in unit powering on and fans running a  constant speed. no display though. Once it starts stays  it remains on .no display  when the power on soft key is depressed the unit powers off. when the mains is switched off again the fan rpm increases before shutting down.
ALl the lv supplies ok. 3.3, 5v -5 and 12 v

thinking of connecting an external monitor and replacing the CR2032 battery

Regards

Anand

If the power supply is functional. (all voltage OK)
1. Reset the bios
2. Check the motherboard. (remove all expansion cards beforehand)

Hello

Ok. will just try and revert
Powersupply works only when the 5 pin inhibit connector is removed.
otherwise it needs a few cycles of soft key power up depressions to turn and remain in the on condition
