Aixun T3A Soldering Station stopped Heating the cartridge/tip

UPDATE: Turns out I have a defective tip. Swapped it and the station is running fine again.

my barely used Aixun T3A, bought in November 21, all of a sudden stopped heating the tip. Station is powering up normally but the temperature reading is more or less stuck at room temperature and the station is not heating no matter what temperature goal I set. This behaviour is the same either with or without the cradle (which triggers the dormancy mode).

I can heat up the tip externally with a heat gun and get a working temp reading.
I tried to reset the station but no success.

What could I look for? You guys have any ideas? I contacted the seller but there is little hope to be honest. Sending it back to CN is most likely not an option.
