AMREL DC electronic load

Hi,

I got an AMREL PELS DC electronic load, which has a weird problem: there is strange (random) characters on the LCD. There is an "Installing" phase after power on, but it looks the program is corrupted. There is a Dallas DS1643 RAM in it, but it is not clear for me, a single replacement could be solve the problem. I already ordered a new RAM from China/eBay (ST M48T18-150PC1), but it did not solve the problem (but there is no guarantee that these new RAMs are not fake ones....)
Is there anybody here who is familiar whith these units? Unfortunately I couldn't find any service manual for it.
