Analog multimeter range problem
« on: April 01, 2021, 05:57:55 pm »
Hi guys,

recently I found 2 Goerz Unigor 6E in the dumpster.

The first one had a little problem with the VDC, was a few mV off, but since I have a Fluke dc standard was no problem.
The second one is a little bit more complicated, this multimeter on the bottom has a switch to select different types of measurement (+ , R - , C  ~)

Ideally when switching from this three ranges my needle should remain at 0, but in this case it changes quite a bit, circa 5 divisions per scale (It goues up and down) only in the  C  ~ range it remains at zero.

I thought that this could be a capacitor problem, is it possible?

If someone had a similar experience please let me know

Do you have a manual and/or schematic diagram?

https://elektrotanya.com/unigor_6e_6ep_multimeter_sm.pdf/download.html#dl

there was a thread here :  just pushed the same link
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/resuerrecting-unigor-6e/

I have removed all the old caps, I only left the ones with good ESR.
And I noticed that the movement now works flawlessy but it does have problems with the r and c scales, probably because there are some missing caps, because 1 or two where not decoupling or filtering caps only.
I'll take new caps this week so I hope it will work!

I have gathered a Unigor 1e in the meanthime lol
