Anritsu MS4624D- 4 channels...lost option 24
« on: May 02, 2019, 09:45:09 am »
Hello
I had to change the BBRAM battery.  I was able to restore the BBRAM and re calibrate.  I lost option 24 which is standard on the D version (and it seems to have been coded in the BBRAM).  Is someone can share his BBRAM content as a text or bin file format?
Thank you very much, really appreciate.

have you put in the right value for DRam-Size after calling the debuggers cfg:m command?

bug> cnfg;m
and answer the questions as follows.

MPU Clock Speed = “32”
Ethernet Address = “00E0A0xxxxxx”, get 6 trailing characters from the logbook
DRAM size = “16” (note: for boards with installed option 24 board put “40” here)
SRAM size = “2048”
DSP Shared Memory = “0128”
Flash Size = “02”
Extended Flash Size = “08” (note: if this won't work, use value 02)
Update to NVRAM = Y

Type in the following command:
bug> cnfg
and verify the results returned are the same as above.

Hello Dieter
oh oh...I put 16.  That will explain why and you save the situation again.
Can I change the value 16 for 40 without affecting the rest of the BBRAM.  The BBRAM contain the calibration (ALC, 10 MHz etc...)

At the address fffc1f36 and fffc1f37 (see attached), if I want to change character 1 and 6 for 4 and 0----4 and 0 is 34 and 30

Memory Write

bug>mw fffc1F36 3430;b----here I am not sure if this a byte or a word?

Is it the proper syntax?

Thank you again,

Hello Dieter,
...or if I do cnfg;m again with the debugger and answer the questions again, will it change only these bytes?

Regards,

Yes, with cnfg:m only the changed values are written to BBRAM. If you press only <return> the shown current value is unchanged. So you can step trough the list until you come to DRAM SIZE. Here put in the correct value.

Hello Dieter,
Thank you, it works very well.

I have a question regarding the HDD...I did not see a hard disk inside.  Is the hard disk the one we could connect on the SCSI interface?

Regards,

François

The HDD is implemented via a battery backuped static ram ( a second lithium battery, not the one for the RTC chip with static ram).

Before you can use the HDD it must have been formatted (via menu, probably utility menu).
