Any recommended Printing Services in US for Service Manuals?
« on: November 16, 2024, 05:53:56 am »
Hey all,
I've been thinking about getting some of my scans of service manuals printed as I much prefer physical copies when working (plus it looks nice on the shelf!)

From what I've seen I doubt I'll be able to get a bound version for a decent cost, so I guess I'm leaning towards a simple three hole punch print that I can put in a binder (plus I can make the foldout pages if I wanted).

Do any of y'all have any recommendations before I go with staples or somewhere like that?

Thanks

Any place like Office Max, Staples or Kinkos can copy them but they value their time very highly so it's not cheap if you have them place the books or pages onto the copy machines instead of you doing it. Also a lot of places will not copy them at all due to copyrights. If I wanted to do it myself the cheapest place that I found to make copies was at the public libraries.

Depending on exactly what you're trying to do and how many copies of each one that you want, your best bet might be to buy a good copy machine and do it all yourself.

I have about 50 - 100 computer and peripheral service manuals from the 1970s and 1980s. I would dearly love to digitise them so that they could be saved for posterity. A friend scanned some of them using the document scanner at his workplace, but he has since moved on. I wonder if anyone knows of any service in Australia that would be willing to handle such a task?

From what I've seen I doubt I'll be able to get a bound version for a decent cost ...

Years ago, I used a glue binding service to turn my loose leaf pages into a book.

You haven't defined what "a decent cost" is, so...

How about lulu.com?
