Datasheet for the tda 8920bth shows mode pin needing 5 volts to activate amp and oscillator pin with 30kohm resistor between neg VSSa and oscillator pin. I take it means -12 volts with 30k resistor to osc pin.  The rest is obvious +-25 volts on pin 1 and 2 of amp module ground on pin 3, oscillation on pin 4 and mode on pin 5. Is this correct?  So if does not work the module is fried and needs repair?

Looks like you have completed all the connections according to the TDA8920BTH datasheet. If still it is not working, probably the IC is damaged. However, before tossing it off, I believe it will be better to double-check your connections. For example, the continuities of wires, measuring voltages in each pin with a multimeter etc.
