Does anyone knows this type of connector?

Hi,

I'm planning a repair of a Weller soldering station (WDM) + smd tweezers (WMRTMS). The connector on the tweezers is broken so I am trying to find a replacement one (on the connector there is no brand, they are branded "Weller").

Anyone knows what type of connector it is?
The female is 12P and the male is using only 6P

At the beginning I thought it was an Hirose-connector. But I cannot find the right one. Any hints?

Looks like a custom insert for a DIN connector.  My Weller WSL has a 6 pole DIN connector, but that doesn't look standard either..

It looks like similar to PACE soldering iron connector. I do not think it is custom made.

The pinout seems identical. The male (plug) outer shell is 15.4mm (excluding the retaining ring lock).

The main difference that i see with the seacon M23 connector is that the Weller connector has 2*180deg keys for the retaining lock and 1 key just on the top of the three top pins-the ones in a line (sorry not much visible from the first picture...).

The connector looks similar to the one linked to above.  What I've found with connectors like this is that you may find a connector with the same/similar pinout, but the housing (keys) will be different.  This outer locking housing may be custom, or silent (never listed publicly as it was made in volume for a specific customer).  In this case, I get out the epoxy, razor blade, etc and make it work.

Well it will just be nice if i fine the connectors - that would be a quick fix. However, if i don't find the right connector i simply give it up... and leave the people to buy new tweezers (the are not mine, they are from the laboratory)

Have you considered trying to convert the connector to something completely different?  You could get a male and female DIN and simply change both ends.  The tweezers would only work on that one station, but maybe it would save some $.

Since you've got both the station and the handpiece,  why don't you just replace the connector on both the handpiece and the station? It shouldn't be too hard to figure out the connections.

Because, the soldering station is one of the many in the power electronics lab and we have different soldering irons that match the original weller connectors

I solved the issue. I finally managed to get hold on the right person at Weller (they are custom connectors) and we solved the issue.
