Aoyou 701A++ solder/desolder station replacement parts
« on: October 08, 2020, 08:30:17 am »
A couple years ago I bought one of the Aoyou 701A++ solder/desolder stations but have not had very good luck with it.  The compressor/vacuum pump seems to lack the needed suction to clean holes.  Does anyone know of a replacement compressor/vacuum pump for these that will actually do the job?  When I searched I only saw one place that listed replacement parts and listed a Aoyou P001 compressor but it was not for the 701 and even if it was it needs a bit more power.  Has anyone replaced that pump in theirs?  What did you use and where did you find it?

I have also looked for a complete parts list and diagram for the 701 since the instruction manual PDF only lists soldering iron and desoldering gun parts and not the main unit parts.  I have also not had good luck finding anyone that stocks consumables for this.  I was looking for a replacement tip but SRA and the other place I saw
https://gsmserver.com/equipment/soldering-equipment/spare-parts-for-soldering-equipment/
also shows the parts but not available.

Thank you.

The Aoyou instruction manual for the 701A++ does not have a parts breakdown for the main unit, only the gun and soldering iron.  I did more looking and looked at the Hakko 701 manual on the Hakko site.  No parts breakdown showed up until the early manual for the 701 which was in 2009.  It listed the Hakko B2444 compressor but searches for that part on the Hakko site return "no find" which makes me think it is no longer available.  I do have to wonder though if I found one somewhere if it would fit in the Aoyou and work.  Anyone have any knowledge about that?

Thank you.

Older Hakko like 474 has manual with complete tear down view (just google), and the compressor it self is not for sale in stand alone unit, but in smaller parts.

Whats your suction pump look like ?

$234 for the B2064 pump for the Hakko 474  is a bit much for a replacement pump/compressor for a $170 station.  I was hoping to find something cheaper than that.

Thank you.

Definitely, thats ridiculous.

What I meant is, Hakko does provide parts, and who knows Aoyue was using "perfect cloned" pump, which hopefully Hakko's parts fit. Do you have photo of the pump ?

I did a repair on the 474 pump and shared it the details, and discussed it while ago here -> Hakko 474 discussion

The 474 pump.

That might be an option but I was hoping to find something with a little bit more suction as the 701A++ simply does not even come close to pulling the solder out of a hole around a lead.  for that reason I was looking for a replacement pump that would actually do the job rather than repairing a mediocre pump that barely does the job and most of the time does not do the job.

Thank you.

The Aoyue  2901/2900 appear to be a soldering iron only.  The Aoyue 701A++ is a rework station in that it has a soldering iron and a separate desoldering/vacuum tool.  It is the compressor for that vacuum tool I am asking about and hoping others can shed some light on this Aoyue station since I have had absolutely no good luck with it and it lacks any suction at all or minimal and I have not seen any comments that might suggest why that happens on a station that has had very little use from the day I bought it.

Thank you.

The 474 pump.

I don't know if a repair of the pump would help.  The unit never quite did the job unless I could get the lead into the nozzle then it would clean the hole but if the part lead was bigger or bent over the unit would never clean all of the solder or even most of the solder.  I also have a Pace MB201 and it is the same way but nozzles with bigger holes are not available for that Pace desoldering tool.  And yes,  I am still looking for a better suction pump.  Thank you.
