Aoyue T001 to Hakko 888
« on: February 02, 2019, 05:53:21 am »
I recently purchased a Hakko 951 soldering station. It replaces my Hakko 888 station. Having looked at the comparison on the EEV You Tube channel, I was convinced it was time to try the better tips.

I also purchased an Aoyue T001, thermal tweezers handpiece on Ebay. But, I now realize I will have to buy the Aoyue station in order to connect the T001. I would prefer not to do this if I do not have to.

MY QUESTION: could I take the Hakko 888 station and Rewire the connector of the Aoyue T001 so that it plugs into the Hakko 888?

If so, DOES ANYONE know where I can buy a Hakko B3468 cord assembly? I have looked everywhere and have had no luck.
Thanks,

You might want to post the Aoyue T001 current pinout scheme.

The cord can be purchased direct from Hakko USA.  OOS now but you can call or chat with them on their estimated restock date.

AFAIK the 888 is like the 936, a 24V heater with a PTC thermistor as its temperature sensor.

According to https://www.aoyue.eu/media/manuals/90/90936/EN/90936_Aoyue_Soldering_Station_en.pdf.pdf the Aoyue 936 uses the same type of heater and sensor (the resistances are identical to those in the Hakko 888 manual) so it is likely to work. Note that other 936 clones use an actual thermocouple for sensing, instead of a PTC.

-you will need two base stations for those tweezers, those are two joined together soldering irons after all
-you dont need whole cord, just the plug. You can get those  on ebay at $5 with free shipping with included piece of crap soldering iron like implement at the other end
Who logs in to gdm? Not I, said the duck.

Before you start the trip on this tool...

Search Youtube for REVIEWS on this particular tool/model

I will not put links here but common denominator suggests
that tool is the crap thing you can get.

Not even the heat it can tolerate.
And it is not all that cheap price tag ...

There was a period of time, these things was a dump including reflow stations. I got the whole tweezer station for less than US$20 NEW.

Then someone, maybe a gangster head in China or what I don't know, united all these Sellers and Prices and no longer we seen dirt cheap prices.

Well, you don't get to say Cheap Chinese Station no more.....LOL, but you can still say.... Not so cheap Chinese Station from now onward.   ;D

You can swap just the plug end, right? AFAIK, the Hakko uses a standard 6 pin DIN connector. You can buy it almost at any major components retailer, like Digi, Mouser, Arrow, etc. There are only a few different flavors of 6 pin DIN connectors; just match the pin arrangement.

Hakko upped their game with the 951 with a non-standard 8 pin DIN. But you can buy those, even, from eBay china.
