Best flux for component removal
« on: June 16, 2022, 01:12:41 am »
Anyone have any suggestions for the best kind of flux to use for hard to remove components on PCBs? I've heard Chipquik but there are so many different kinds and flavors...

Edit. Sorry, I should update: I am looking for the best all purpose flux, for both lead and lead free applications.

Thanks,

Mike

I use ChipQuik SMD4300TF10, works well and the datasheet specifies it is good for leaded & lead free applications.

+1 for the SMD4300TF10. It works great and lasts a good long time when reworking.

rosin based fluxes are good for almost anything ;) e.g. RMA-223 (even the chinese ones works well for me).
