BK 2120B 20MHz Oscilloscope help
« on: January 13, 2022, 06:25:48 am »
Hello,

I had a friend just give me this scope that appeared to be in working order except for one obvious problem. When you adjust the horizontal sweep to a solid trace it isn’t even across the screen. It has a slight angle down from left to right.

I have looked for a service manual but have not located one so far. So if anyone has any information on how to correct this issue please let me know.

Thanks

Dennis

Try the "trace rotation" adjustment.

You can tell I’m new when it comes to a scope. Just adjusted it and now it’s perfect.

Thanks for the help.

Now that you have a working scope, please get some probes that match the input impedance.
That is, if you do not have them.
Use 10X probes almost all the time to prevent accidental scope damage and get better traces.

The 2120B appears to be a 30MHz scope.
There's no point getting old if you don't have stories.

I have used these things. They are nice for audio and for "High Freq". 30 MHZ is plenty to start with and the scopes preform quite well at audio freq.
They are really pretty good scopes for someone to start with, especially at the this price.
