Bluetooth speaker goes into protection when powered up
« on: November 11, 2021, 10:04:10 am »
I have an Akai battery powered speaker (the larger ones with a 10 inch woofer) and when powered up it goes into some sort of protection. I can hear the relay click rapidly a few times and the woofer popping but then it shuts down. It only does this with the woofer connected, if I disconnect it it powers on normally. I double checked with another driver and it does the same thing. So I suspect either:
- the TDA7377 chip
- the speaker protection circuit

I'd be really happy to hear some opinions before replacing the chip  :-+
