Bosch EPG60613 - Power supply question

I'm new to the site and I'm impressed by the level of technical feedback and tips given by some of you !

I hope someone can help me out as well.
At the moment I'm working on my Bosch dishwasher which stopped working.
The TNY264GN is blown and needs replacing, luckily it's still available.

There was also a resistor or coil blown and there is my first challenge. Identifying the component.
   - Can anybody help me with the identification of the component in the picture (not the red circle but above it) ?

The color code looked like: Brown - Black - Black - Gold ---- White
But it as over heated and cracked.
In some of the pictures found for this PCB it looks like Brown - Black - Brown-Gold ---- White.

My best guess would be a 10uH coil, but how many amps ?

It would be very helpfull if anybody has a schematic to this board EPG60613 and is willing to share it with me.

Anybody ?

Does it still measure any resistance? What about white gray black black gold? Hard to tell for me on your picture, 980 ohms? Ending brown or gold wouldn’t matter much.

Verify the colour banding again, it’s hard to tell for me on my lil screen

Nah, that can’t be right… because the other resistor is then 981ohms… what is that that circuit the resistor is in?

I would have to guess that might be a flame proof fusible resistor like this one:

It it in the input area of the circuit? It could be a current limiting resistor / fuse.

While you are at it you might want to consider replacing the capacitors if they are older.
If the bulk capacitor loses capacitance it could cause that part to fail as would happen here:

Hello tim,

Thank you for your input.
It's in the power circuit for sure, but i'm not sure yet in which part.
It's not in the input circuit of the switchingpower supply.

I have to do a little bit more reverse engineering to be sure.

If the colours remaining are to be trusted, it looks like a 10 Ohm resistor. Probable the fusible type, as indicated above.
I believ inductors have somo more bands

Hello Ingalopez,

What you indicate makes more sense.
It looks more like a resistor than an inductor, also on the inside and the wires are pretty much broken across the whole length of the cylinder.

Going by the size it would be a 1 Watt type.

I have a similar problem with this board - resistor burned in such a way that the colour code is unreadable.
Have you managed to repair the board and would you mind sharing what you did if you succeeded?

My friend passed me a similar problem Bosch EPG60613 (220 - 240)VAC board for repair.  The switching IC blew and cannot be identified.  The resistor is not burnt and read and test to be 100ohm.  The burnt mark under the X2 capacitor was a vapourized tiny track (act as fuse?) just after the 240VAC rectifier diode on the active line.  The 100ohm resistor is before the rectifier diode.  So I replaced the exploded IC with TNY268GN which is the maximum rating in that switching IC series and replace the vapourized tiny track with a fuse (1A) with solder joint.  Then the DC output before the 78M05 IC is 13.92VDC.  The current drawn from 240VAC line is about 40mA.  As I don't have the dishwasher, I cannot test out completely.  I shall declare it is a success in component level repair for this board. :)
