Bosch IXO Screwdriver
« on: November 08, 2014, 10:02:24 pm »
Bosch IXO Screwdriver,

This useful little tool broke down on me after giving it a good hammering, 3 torx bits to open, fault is with the forward and reverse switch.

It's a 5 pin 3 position slide switch, I have opened it up and the contacts were toast, cleaned it up with a fibreglass pencil, half working but need to replace the switch.
Daft design as all the current goes through this switch, seems to be powered by a 18650 (might uprate that while im in it)

Trouble is I cannot find a 5 pin TH mount 3 pin slider switch anywhere.

Found a pic of the switch, forgot to take a photo while it was out... Can't find a replacement anywhere!

Bosch actually have a pretty good aftermarket sparepart sales. I've orderet alot of stuff to my grinders, etc. The price is usually very reasonable.
I don't know if the IXO is in the "home" or "pro" catalogue though - http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/search

I had the same issue few years ago. New IKEA bookshelf came with quick solution - tumbler switch on the wires.  :)
Still cannot find the proper switch.
