Title: Bricked My Rigol DS2072A-S -- FIXED!
Post by: Melt-O-Tronic on July 08, 2018, 02:18:35 pm
:palm:  Well I've finally done it.  I tried to do a firmware upgrade last night to fix a bug (going from v00.03.03.01.00 to v00.03.05.03.03).  The progress bar stopped moving at around 10% within a minute or two and didn't move for the next 2 hours.  I managed to convince myself that it was probably just decompressing and hadn't gotten to the point of no return, so I eventually power cycled it.  Stupid move.

Now, the splash screen comes up and it goes into a perpetual reboot cycle about every 3 seconds.  I have a memory dump file I did via SCPI command about 3 years ago in preparation for Riglol.  Is there any chance I can shove that back in with a hardware programmer?  Or am I going to have to bite the bullet and beg Rigol for help?

OMG, Samogon.  I've read soooo many DS2072 posts and totally missed that.  I did it and my scope is back AND the firmware update is successful.

THANK YOU!!!   :-+   :-+   :-+
