Broken connector on U-TEC UL1 Lock
« on: April 06, 2024, 08:39:28 pm »
This is some kind of connector, not exactly flex but close to that kind. It goes on https://support.u-tec.com/hc/en-us/categories/360000196171-ULTRALOQ-UL1-Combo, snapped off when I was trying to remove it. I can't for the life of me tell what it is... Any thoughts?

- Surface mount
- Seems like 0.050" / 1.27mm pitch
- 12 positions, single row

Should be able to reflow it straight back on as no pads have lifted...

The metal pins all broke from the connector. They’re still on the board unfortunately.

The closest I've found so far is here, but the pitch is wrong and the connector mating pins aren't right...

https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/jst-sales-america-inc/SM12B-PASS-TBT/2771906?0=%2Fheaders-male-pins&s=N4IgjCBcoLQKxVAYygMwIYBsDOBTANCAPZQDaIATCALoC%2BthVk5AygLJgUBCMACgIIsWNWkA

I've been trying to fiddle with my search and looking at related data-sheets but keep coming up short.

I do have a Support case in with U-Tec and they're looking to see if they have spare boards available but I also asked them to reach out to engineering to see if they can just tell me what connector that is... Fingers crossed, I'm sure it's an odd request for them.

Could it be 1.25mm pitch? It sure looks like it could be JST GH:
