Broken power board for phillips gaming monitor
« on: February 17, 2024, 05:27:15 am »
Hi Friends,

I have a blown power board on my phillips monitor. The ******* at phillips will not sell the part. They say i have to take it to phillips service center. I live in a very remote location, Borneo. There is no service center in 1000kms or more.

I tried the local electrical shop ( in Borneo) and they have no clue.

What can I do? I have been looking for the part second hand for years on ebay etc, it never appears.

If you cannot find a replacement board then I guess the next thing to try is to repair that one. It looks like a pretty standard SMPS and it looks to me like the high voltage switching transistors on the primary side have burnt. It should not be too difficult to repair for someone with knowledge of theses types of SMPS. I should think.

In years past I have had to reverse engineer a few. It took a lot of time but I managed to succeed in the end.
