Brown & Sharpe 961 LVDT gauge readout documentation

Does anyone know of a source of *any* info.  I don't even have a user manual or datasheet.

I got one from ebay that seems OK until I connect an LVDT at which point it pegs the meter on all ranges.  However, the sensor is clearly working, so there is some offset voltage for reasons unknown.  I've had it apart, checked all the electrolytics and looked for adjustments.  None that I found have any effect.

Unfortunately, wrong division.  The metrology stuff belongs to Hexagon IIRC.   I don't have a screw machine.
