Bruel & Kjaer touch up paint suggestions needed.
« on: August 13, 2024, 12:53:38 am »
I would like to know if anyone has found a Humbrol paint match for that greenish blue colour used by Bruel & Kjaer. I don't need a big amount , one of those little cans of paint for military modeling that Humbrol makes would be ample enough. I looked up their paint chart and either Pastel Green or Beige Green appear to be close to the required colour.

I’ve found documentation of newer products, specifying the B&K green to be NCS S3010-G10Y. I don’t know if that is true for older units, but at least on my computer screen it looks close enough to my gear.

Thanks dejv, I'll look into this and see if it's a close enough match.

Looked it up, sadly it appears to be more on the grey side then what B&K used.

How about that?

Looks close. I also saw the RAL equivalent RAL 150 70 10. I will try to source some at a place that sells paint for scale modeling. Thanks for your answer.

Just an idea: Our local DIY hardware stores are able to measure the color - and mix it.
Another idea: Ask a local repro studio, maybe some larger design company - they often use a calibrated Colorimeter to match client color demands.
