BSIDE ESR02Pro Component Tester repair
« on: May 07, 2024, 12:50:03 pm »
Hi,
I destroyed my ESR02Pro tester (tested charged capacitor). Now I get blank display with backlight on. Anybody managed to repair this? My main concern is whether the LCD has been also destroyed or not. If it is OK, then there is only a couple of ICs inside which can be replaced easily.

PCB photos please. If it uses a microcontroller
and it is damaged, then you need firmware.

Most likely the ATmega is damaged. The ST7565 based display is powered by a 3.3V LDO and has series resistors in the signal lines. So it might be still ok. You can find more information about that Transistortester clone at https://disk.yandex.ru/d/yW8xa5NJgUo5z. And I'd recommend to run one of the OSHW firmwares (k or m).
