Title: Btech Ham Radio Charger Repair
Post by: Jake86us on May 13, 2021, 01:23:48 am
Hey Guys/Gals

I am working on a Btech charger for my UV-5x3 radio. I think I have blown the Linear Constant Current Charging Chip. The chip is pictured below in the attachment. My question is the chip is a HXN-WS e4956 and all I can find is a HXN-WS e4957. What is the difference between the 4956 and 4957? Can I use the 4957 instead?

thanks for any help you may have!!
Jake

Some time ago I found a page on the internet showing how to replace the original PCB with a generic charger circuit on the internet.
I can not find this page again.
These Btech chargers are supposedly unreliable.

Here is a description on how to repair the chargers for the 878/868.
