Cambridge Audio Azur 740A dead PIC
« on: July 16, 2019, 09:03:28 am »
Hi

I have problem with my CA 740A. The 5V rail is totally shorted. I checked it and its the PIC micro. Do you know where I can find the .hex file? I wrote a email to CA support but they cant send me the hex files. Maybe someone have this file and could send or sell it.

Presumably you have found this:
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1512796/Cambridge-Audio-740a.html?page=60#manual

There's a phone number on the front. The manual says you should request the .hex file from the service department. Might be worth ringing and asking to be put through. Good luck.

The service manual jogged my meory when I saw Kanda specified as the programmer, Kanda supply device programmers that can limit the number of times you can program chips, so you load it up with the HEX and 'tokens' purchased, when they're 'spent' no more programming until you buy more.

Cambridge won't supply the HEX, you'd need to ask if they will supply a programmed chip.
