you people are geniuses!!!
yes, it has to be the "S-80230AG, Seiko, negative voltage regulator" how did you "GA S3" translate to "S-80230AG, Seiko, negative voltage regulator" ...
Thank you very much.

I found a replacement on eBay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5PCS-X-S-80230AG-GA-SOT89-SEIKO/333124381628?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5PCS-X-S-80230AG-GA-SOT89-SEIKO/333124381628?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649)
It doesn't look very promising but I ordered them anyway. it seems like an obsolete part. how people find a replacement for parts like this? I spent a couple of hours on mouser and djkey couldn't find anything to replace this part... it seems very odd!!! I thought there must be lots of replacement for this part (-3v regulator)
