Can't decode resistance value with color code - help!
« on: November 01, 2024, 01:04:15 am »
Hello !
I am trying to decode the resistance value for the R1 part on a PCB-0046, Electrolux 3164627 pcb 0046, es52x_36x PCB.
Many people say it is a 221 ohms, but I am unable to confirm this value, as the colors on the resistance do not seem to be compatible with the 5 band color codes.
The various pictures of the resistors were captured on the Internet, sorry if they are fuzzy.
Is anyone able to decode the resistor value with certainty?
Thanks !
JL

does this help?

All 5 band resistors with the 4th band of silver or gold form an exception and are utilized on specific or older resistors. The first two bands represent the significant digits, the 3rd band is a multiplication factor, the 4th band is for tolerance, and the 5th band is for the temperature coefficient (ppm/K).

220Ω, not 221 (red-red-brown). Almost the same difference, but still.

I found that the 5th white band indicates that the resistor is a "fusible resistor".

So it really is a 220-ish ohms resistor.

Thanks
