Capacitors for CRT low impedance or general purpose?
« on: September 15, 2022, 09:50:49 pm »
Hi! I need to replace 2/3 capacitors on my CRT TV and I'm thinking about ordering em from Mouser. When ordering capacitors specific for CRTs should i go for Low Impedance or General Purpose? Also does Ripple current matter? Thanks!

generally doesnt matter (same capacitance and size that can fit and voltage rating same or higher) sometimes can do experiment with higher capacitance to bring down ripple ...

low ESR /high ripple current/long life capacitors are better
larger size capacitors will live longer than miniature

for 2k vintage it wont make it more valuable installing higher quality components (maybe after 40y)
