Card extender suggestions
« on: June 29, 2021, 01:56:21 pm »
Looking to make an extender for the control board on an APC SURT1000 to allow access to the plug-in control board signals.  Attached are photos of the double-sided 2x28 pin connector with alignment slot.  Pitch is ~2.5mm with a 2mm wide pad, Board is 1.6mm thick. Have searched online for a suitable connector - can find options for a female socket that look probably suitable but need to parts (male connector, short cable (easy to find), and female socket) to make an extension adapter.  Female socket on main board is 83mm x 10mm,

Can anyone identify this type of connector and point me in the right direction to find one?  Also need to find a male analog of the PCB edge connector that I can solder or otherwise connect to.   Hoping to find a way of doing this with off-the-shelf items. Suggestions welcome.

it's a standard 60 way edge connector:

You can get "ISA prototype board"s on ebay, they have one extra pin, so you have to file the edge.

Could an ISA riser card be adapted for this task (with a hacksaw)?

Ordered one of these - overlaying images suggests I should be able to cut the interface down and use it. Will report on whether it works.
