CCD/CMOS CAMERA borescope - milwaukee m12 m-spector
« on: November 15, 2024, 01:37:55 pm »
Hi,

I am repairing a borescope - the 8 year old M12 M spector from milwaukee
After taking the camera end apart, I found that there are 4 wires, typical of a borescope:
- video
- 3.3 volts
- GND
- LED

I terminated the connections again and tested it
While it works, the camera sensor is ridiculously out of focus.
The camera sensor is one of those PCB modules that has the grooves on the lens that allow you to twist it open to access the CMOS/CCD panel
I tried cleaning it with alcohol

Apart from being out of focus, there doesnt seem to be any static or noise so i dont think its because of lack of shielding of the video wire during the testing phase

Does anyone have any ideas? Ive no idea how these cmos work so I don’t know where to start looking to make the image more in focus. It recognises color, light and dark but its like really short sighted for lack of a better description

Thank you
