Title: Cheap Dmm glitch
Post by: X13 on March 22, 2019, 08:11:57 am
After seeing Dave being impressed with the aneng 8008, I ordered one on bangood .After a long trip from China the meter arrived, I started using it and within a few months I blew up the current range fuse. While checking the fuses on both the current and voltage ranges I realized that even the voltage range fuse was blown.I removed both the fuses but miraculously the voltage and resistance functions still work.(the current range doesnt work but thats expected anyway) What's the point of fusing the voltage range when the meter can still measure voltages without it? I this a common thing or am I mistaken or did I get a faulty meter?
(Ps the fuse contacts on the voltage range are not shorted)

the 2 fuses are not connected to the voltage range / resistance range - The 2 fuses are only used in current measurement, and there is 2 different fuses to the different ranges of current measurement.
