Does anybody know, if conversion from Agilent DSO6000L series (LXI oscilloscope) to DSO6000A stand-alone is possible?
I think, it should be possible, because both mainboards has same Agilent part numbers).
I see 3 ways to go:
1. Find a cheap (defective) DSO6014/6034/6054A to swap the mainboards
2. Find a used DSO6014/6034/6054A front panel to connect to the DSO6054L. If display included, connect it too, if not included, use VGA output and external monitor.
3. Find schematic of the front panel to handbuilt the front panel from scratch.
My questions:
1. Anybody wants to sell me a cheap (used/defective) DSO6014/6034/6054A ?
2. Anybody wants to sell me a used DSO6014/6034/6054A front panel (with or w/o display)?
3. Anybody helps me to find a schematic of the DSO6014/6034/6054A front panel?
4. Any additional ideas or remarks?

It's possible there are configuration differences, so it might not work with the front panel/local display as-is - may be worth scoping the display connector to see if there are active signals.
Chances of finding a cheap faulty unit are fairly slim, but this is where Ebay saved searches are useful if you're in no hurry.
Personally I think the best bet would be to list it on ebay as there may be people with these as part of test systems etc. who need a spare. If you're lucky someone has a saved search set up so they find your listing quickly, and will be happy to pay a decent price for something that's no available new.

PS any chance of some internal pics - I'm curious as to how it differs from the benchtop version.
ISTR these do have some kind of remote front panel web based interface that is fairly useable , but it uses an old web tech that's not supported by more recent browsers - might be worth trying to set that up on a netbook or laptop

As I wrote, part numbers of both mainboards (low profile and benchtop version) are identical, so there are no differences.
Front and back connectors are identical. Power supplies have different form factor.

That's correct, I've checked it years ago. IIRC it has a serious lag between sending a command from the web interface and reaction of the o'scope.
Maybe this behaviour is acceptable for ATE usage, it is not for using as stand-alone unit.

Thank you for posting the video!
The front panel PCB is much more complex than just a simple switch matrix and some rotary encoders.
So making the front panel from scratch will be more unlikely.
PS: Found some more pics, I will compare tomorrow.
